Great for stress,
emotional challenges and a burnt out nervous system. Oatstraw helps with
insomnia, a chattering mind, anxiety, nervous exhaustion, nerve pain, recovery
from substance abuse, emotional trauma, tension, depression, P.M.S., and
nervous headaches. When someone seems burnt out, overwrought, on the edge,
overdone, frazzled, and generally worn out, I suggest oatstraw. Oatstraw helps
to regenerate and nourish the nervous system, it contains alkaloids which may
help rebuild the myelin sheath, the protective wrapper around nerves, and so is
often useful for long term nerve problems such as chronic pain from injury or
illness. It is gentle, calming and soothing. Oatstraw is also well known to be
useful for all stages of a woman's life. It can help with anxiety, insomnia,
pain, and nervousness during menstruation and menopause. The ability of
oatstraw to help regenerate the nervous system can have a very beneficial
effect on a woman's hormone cycle. The nervous system plays an important role
in communicating hormonal messages in the body. If the nervous system is weak
or exhausted this can have an effect on a woman's hormonal balance. Oatstraw
helps to balance the nervous system and the endrocine system. It is also gentle
enough to use during pregnancy and is found in many tonic pregnancy tea
formulas. Regardless of menstruation, menopause, or pregnancy, most women
experience varying levels of stress and tension. Oatstraw is one of my favorite
herbal remedies for all levels of depression, emotional challenges, and stress
and it actually has a very nice taste! Contains high amounts of bone building
materials.

children. Used for various neurological disorders. Used as a sedative to calm
nerves during menopause. Has pain-killing effect. Eye wash used for eye
infections, inflamed eyes, and dimness of vision. It can also be helpful in
conditions of muscle spasm, from injury, menstrual problems, or even stomach

calmed enough by it to sleep deeply, yet still wake refreshed and alert.

Polynesia as a narcotic and euphoric, as well as a social sacrament for
promoting friendly interpersonal interactions. Indeed, any important community
function within the native groups of the area is marked by the ceremonial
drinking of Kava preparations, especially in meetings where there is potential
for negativity, such as treaties or reconciliation between enemy groups.
Historically, groups consuming Kava on a regular basis have few troubles with
diseases of the sexual organs, and they claim that any outbreaks of sexual
diseases are halted by the Kava before they damage the body. In spiritualized essence it has more
stimulating and outgoing social and emotional qualities and is also useful for
meditation. -

of toxic substances in the liver.
Actions:
diaphoretic, carminative, nervine, anti-spasmodic
Indications:
fever, flu, colds, headaches, depression, menstrual cramps, insomnia, nervous
stomach, hyperthyroidism, herpes simplex, indigestion, tension, ear infection
Considered
by Paracelsus to be a cure-all, and was the herb he revered most. Appears to
work as a sedative in tension cases, but at the same time as a mood elevator
and antidepressant, and so can be useful for relieving tension in people who
might have overly depressive reactions to heavier, downer-type sedatives. Lemon Balm is used to treat children
with fever, flu, and colds, and ear infections. Lemon Balm is used in spells to
bring success, and in healing spells. It is often used in spells to find love
and friendship. It is elevating
and cheering.
Actions: antispasmodic, diaphoretic,
emmenagogue, hemostatic, anthelmintic, antiseptic
Indications: dysmenorrhea, menorrhagia, infertility,
preventive for miscarriage, sciatica, convulsions, hysteria, epilepsy,
depression, mental exhaustion, insomnia, gout, rheumatism, fungal infections
Used
for stomach disorders, especially those acid in nature, as it reduces acid
secretions and may even lessen the damage from chronic over-acidic conditions,
such as gastric ulcers, acid reflux, etc.
Mugwort is also becoming popular as an antioxidant to regulate fat
metabolism, especially in the liver. Too much fat in the blood causes blood to
be sluggish, thick, and have fat cell pile-ups and strain on the capillaries,
resulting in dyspeptic headache, inflamed areas and congestion of the digestive
system. Mugwort seems to help these fats move along and out more smoothly. It
can also help with frontal or allergy-related headaches. Warms lower abdomen,
strenghtens uterus and the fetus, regulates menstration, relieves menstrual
cramping and headaches, relieves pain.
Mugwort is a strong emmenagogue, and
should be avoided in pregnancy.
A formula inspired by Ayurvedic
medicine. It is made up of herbs used to facilitate deep and calm meditation,
yoga, prayer, or any other type of contemplative activity in which the body

Created under the rulership of the Moon, it may be helpful for states of depression, anxiety, insomnia, and the physical problems which can result from these mental states.
Actions:tonic
Indications: stress,
insomnia, low will power, quitting
smoking or other addictions, compulsive behavior
Polygala is one of
the truly extraordinary tonic herbs in the entire Asian tonic herbal system.
This herb first attained wide use in Daoist circles because it was believed to
have powerful mind and spirit-developing power. In fact, Polygala root was
believed to be an empowering substance in the class with wild Ginseng and Ganoderma
in this regard. This root is traditionally used as a Shen tonic to relax the
mind, calm the emotions and to aid in the sleep process. However, it does not
relax the mind in entirely the same manner as many Shen stabilizing herbs. Instead, many people claim that it
enhances dreaming and aids in creative thinking. And it not only aids creative
thinking, but the ability to manifest our ideas. In fact, the ancient name for
this herb is the "Will Strengthener." The herb is believed to have the
ability to strengthen that part of the psyche which we call the
"Will." These days,
Polygala may be used to strengthen the Will of the spiritual seeker, or it may
be used to strengthen the Will of the more earth-bound. It is used in
formulations to build enough will power to overcome obstacles and to achieve
greater heights. For example, it can be used as the main ingredient in formulas
to help stop smoking, or even to break other habits, such as drug abuse,
overeating, or compulsive behavior of any sort. Polygala has the unique power
to provide the energy (the "power") to our Will, so that we can
overcome the obstacles that block us from becoming all that we can become. And
it not only helps us break old, bad habits. It also helps strengthen our will to
do new things, to achieve new heights. It strengthens our Will so that we can
start to work on a new project, to start exercising, to start and continue
whatever we need to do to grow, to become a great human being. That is the
magic of Polygala, the "Will Strengthener."
Polygala
has another unique quality that sets it apart from most other herbs, including
the tonic herbs. It has the ability to connect the Kidney (sexual) energy with
the Heart (love) energy. It does this by opening the energy flow between the
Heart and Kidney known as the Penetrating Vessel. The Penetrating Vessel is one
of the energy channels that regulate the functions of the body-mind. It is
called a "psychic channel" by the Taoists. Commonly, this vessel is
blocked, resulting in a de-linking of our sexual energy and our emotional
feelings. It is essential for our true health and well being that feelings of
love and the functions of sex are united. Consuming Polygala for a period of
time will have this result. The Will Strengthener thus has a unique power to
deepen our experience and our feelings, and to bring new levels of happiness
into our lives.

Indications: impotency, senility, hormonal
deficiency, infertility, colic, nervous excitability, hysteria, abdominal pain

The
most common use of wild yam is for the hormonal effects, as it contains DHEA, a
hormone precursor. This constituent has usefulness for both men and women, as
it can be made by the body into many other hormones, but it does have a
particular slant towards progesterone, and so is especially useful for women.
These progesterone compounds are also used for exhausted adrenal conditions,
and it is comparable to licorice in that effect and its effect on balancing
blood sugar levels. Also used for digestive system problems of a bilious or
gaseous nature. Its alkaloid constituents act as strong relaxants to the
stomach muscles and nerves, and so can be very useful in nausea, cramping, and
vomiting. Stong rejuvenative
powers. Increase semen, milk and
other horomal secretions, and increases body weight, tonic for female
reproductive system. Soothing and
harmonizing effect on digestive organs.

It
has euphoric properties - creating positivity and happiness for its user. It will help change problems into
insights. If a drop is placed on

Used
as a sacred medicine by indigenous shamans and healers to travel into the
supernatural world to discover the true cause of a patients trouble, used in a
ceremonial manner to induce a visionary trance state within which it is
possible to determine the underlying cause of disease and what steps can be
taken to remedy it. It is also
used to determine the where-abouts of a lost or stolen object. Has etheogen effects- meaning it gives
one contact with the divne within oneself. It can be mood elevating and create a sense of
wellbeing and a fresh outlook on life for the user.
Very large doses have hallucinogenic
effects. Mostly used for its MAO-inhibiting properties. Increases the
effects of any hallucinogen if taken shortly after drinking syrian rue extract.
Creates
a deep sense of relaxation and well being while enhancing vision and relieving
depression. Often used together with its companion herb, Salvia Divinorum. S. splendens, or Crimson Sage,
makes the deeply meditative and insightful states of S. divinorum more
accessible, and activates the centered and inward focus of the meditation. Used
together, they produce a much more productive time of contemplation, which is
often followed by great insights and breakthroughs.
Well-known as an ingredient in beer,
with an equally long history as a healing herb as well. Hops contains strongly
estrogenic compounds, also useful for regulating and balancing the menstrual
cycle, and is widely used for Menopausal imbalances as well.
Hops' other popular use is as a
calmative and anti-stress herb, whether sewn into a dream pillow or taken
internally. Hops gives most users a clear state of calm, useful for still
meditation or to stop nervousness but still remain alert. Hops can also be used
for dreamlike astral travel or lucid dreaming and meditation.
Although this plant is not related to
Cannabis, nor does it contain any of the same chemicals, the Hottentots of
Africa consider it a wild form of that herb, and it acts in many similar
ways. Bringing a calm, open state
of lightness, Wilde Dagga relaxes the self and brings levity and joyousness.
This state allows a deeper connection and merging with astral energies, without
the weight of fear or over-seriousness.
It is interesting that Wilde Dagga's medicinal uses also mirror
Marijuana's.
CALEA ZACATECACHICHI (Bitter Grass)-
Calea is not as
familiar to most people, but it is widely used in Mexico, where it is called
"the dream herb", and is used to promote dreams of divination. In
clinical trials, Calea has been proven to increase the duration of REM, or
dreaming, sleep. Calea creates an
interesting sleep pattern, in which users report quick onset of deep sleep with
many dreams, followed by immediate awakening after the dreams. Coming out of
sleep right after the dream often helps with dream recall, rather than sleeping
on until morning and losing the dream's details.
One of the three ingredients in the
famous South American ritual drink known as Yage or Ayahuasca, Banisteriopsis
is used as a doorway for entering the astral realm for Shamanic or divination
work. It has a tendency to loosen the ties between the astral and physical body
for skrying work.
Caution: if you are currently taking any type of MAO inhibitor or
psychiatric drug, pharmaceutical, or herbal, you should consult a physician
before using Banisteriopsis, as fatal reactions can occur. Do not use
Banisteriopsis in combination with alcohol, sedatives, narcotics, or other
mood-altering substances. Additional potential problems exist; be educated and
responsible about your use of this powerful plant.

Antibiotic Resistance! It acts
like an antibiotic by fighting the "bad" microbes we are exposed to,
it destroys only the bad bacteria and protects the good. Antibiotics kill
invaders but don't strengthen the immune system. HIV/AIDS Scientific/Documented
Research: Oleuropein the active ingredient of the olive leaf maintains
acclaimed powers against a virus, retrovirus, bacterium and protozoan. Oleuropein brings some highly
important claims: Oleuropein interferes with critical amino acid production
essential for viruses, inactivates viruses and prevents a virus from spreading,
budding or assembling, directly penetrates infected cells stopping viral
replication, neutralizes reverse transcriptase and protease and can stimulate
phagocytosis where cells ingest harmful microorganisms.

Scientists think that usnic acid works by disrupting cellular metabolism,
either by preventing the formation of ATP (the cells' energy source), or by the
uncoupling of oxidative phosphorylization. Usnea may also be superior to the
drug Flagyl (metronidazole). Usnea is effective against Trichomonas, a parasite
which can cause among other things, a serious infection of the uterine cervix.
Flagyl is widely prescribed for Trichomonas infection, but it is now believed
to also cause cancer.

and Epimedium, which have been historically used to overcome many common male
sexual imbalances and support performance. The ingredients are: suma, ginseng, epimedium, fo-ti, shitake, siberian ginseng, ashwagandha, muira puama, rehmannia, ginkgo, hawthorne, and damiana.
Formulated from herbs specifically
healing and protective to this often troublesome gland, as well as herbs which
are tonic overall to the health of the male urinary system. Herbs like Saw
Palmetto and Nettles act to reduce the swelling that the prostate can develop
in adult years, while kidney and urinary tonics like Corn Silk and Pipissewa
are cleansing and soothing. Siberian Ginseng is also included for its tonic,
balancing, and stress-relieving qualities

high blood pressure, indigestion, chronic coughs, shortness of breath
Chinese Codonopsis is considered a
nourishing tonic, it has been used to promote digestion, absorption, metabolism
and tone and strengthen the stomach and spleen. The herb stimulates the nervous
system, increases body resistance and has been shown to increase the number of
red blood cells and hemoglobin content. Animal studies have shown that it
dilates peripheral blood vessels and inhibits adrenal cortex activity, causing
a lowering of blood pressure. This herb also benefits the lungs and is helpful
in treating chronic coughs and shortness of breath. Chinese physicians
sometimes use Codonopsis as a Ginseng substitute
Actions: anti tumor, anti cancer
effect
Indications: indigestion, diabetes,
chronic and acute allergies, chronic fatigue, and disorders of the liver.
Known in Brazil as "God's
Mushroom" because of its near miraculous curative benefits to a wide range
of disorders. Traditionally people
have used the tea made from Agaricus Blazei to overcome numerous conditions and
disorders related to the immune system, the cardiovascular system, digestion,
diabetes, chronic and acute allergies, chronic fatigue, and disorders of the
liver. Potent chemopreventive
activity. Agaricus in now being used clinically accross Asia for numerous
conditions and disorders. It is also being consumed as a food and as a tonic
herb as Agaricus is a gentle, edible mushroom that has no side effects. The active constituents have been
identified as the Polysaccharide-protein complexes called Beta-1,6-D-glucan and
an almost identical chemical, Beta-1,3-D-glucan. Agaricus Blazei is by far the
richest natural source of Beta-1,6-D-glucan and Beta-1,3-D-glucan yet
discovered.
These Polysaccharides are strong macrophage activators and work through the "glucan receptor" sites on the surface of these immensely important immune cells. Macrophages are our first line of defense and play the pivotal role in our immune response to any attack by intruders. Macrophages are the immune cells that recognize, engulf and destroy organisms, cells, and substances that don't belong in the body, including viruses, bacteria, yeast, heavy metals, pollutants, bits of dead tissue, mutated cells, and tumor cells. They take on any challenge and further stimulate the immune system to respond. Macrophages ignite intercellular communication by releasing chemical messengers called cytokines (interferon and interleukin). These cytokines are powerful proteins responsible for catalyzing and regulating several immune responses within the body. Agaricus Blazei extracts have been proven to stimulate the production of these cytokine. Macrophages travel from the site of their first contact with an intruder or toxin to the lymph system, where it communicates with T-cells, activating a specific immune response. Specific antibodies are then built to combat the intruder. Agaricus Blazei helps to stimulate and enhance this essential immune response. Beta-1,6-D-glucan and Beta-1,3-D-glucan have also been shown to have inhibitory effects on abnormal cell growths. It has been proposed that Beta-1,6-D-glucan and Beta-1,3-D-glucan may stimulate cell lysing (destroying) action by specialized immune system cells.
Anti tumor effect: Agaricus contains high level of effective
elements such as polysaccarides, both Beta(1-3)D-glucan & Beta(1-6)D-glucan
protein compounds, ribonucleic acid protein compounds, acid heteroglucan,
xyloglucan, lectin, etc. When these elements are introduced into our white
blood cells, it enhances the activity of macrophage, an antibody cell that
destroys or delays the proliferation of cancer cells.
Anti cancer effect: Agaricus contains natural steroids, known for
it's anti cancer effect. (It is different from the chemically produced steroids
that enhance the body that is often said to be the cause of cancer). It is
particularly effective in prevention of uteran cancer.
Preventative effect: Agaricus contains large amounts of non
digestive dietary fibers that absorb cancerous materials in our body and
discharge away from our system.
Blood glucose reducing effect: Effective elements mentioned above
such as Beta(1-3)D-glucan & Beta(1-6)D-glucan protein compounds,
ribonucleic acid protein compounds also has positive effects to reduce the
blood glucose(sugar).
Blood pressure, Cholesterol & Arteriosclerosis reducing
effect: The above mentioned dietary fiber and unsaturated fatty acid, such as
linolin, contained in ABM, have effects to reduce blood pressure, cholesterol
and arteriosclerosis.
Vitamin D2 effect: Agaricus contains vitamins B1 and B2 but also
contains large amounts of ergosterol, which would be converted to vitamin D2
when it is dried in the sun or heated in a mechanical drying process. Vitamin
D2 has positive effects to lessen the danger of osteoclasis.
Actions:
diuretic, laxative, tonic
Indications:
colds, tuberculosis, diabetes, stomach pain, cancer, sore throat and
hoarseness, arthritis, rheumatism, headache relief, hangovers, hyperthyroid,
gallstones, blood poisoning, staphylococcus or streptococcus infections,
regulating blood sugar
Used to relieve viral cold symptoms,
combat tuberculosis, combat and cure adult-onset diabetes, resolve
"stomach pain", treat cancer, as a topical wash for staphylococcus or
streptococcus infections, re-establish menstrual flow after giving birth, used
internally ( strong infusions were consumed exclusively for several days,
excluding all food and water) and externally( as a topical wash ) for
rheumatism and arthritis, consumed regularly as a general health tonic, gargled
for sore throat and hoarseness, used to quell fevers.
Contemporary
coastal peoples use the tea of Devil's Club for: headache relief, fresh or
dried bark tea for rheumatism, respiratory ailments, stomach ulcers, hangover
cure, to treat and prevent blood poisoning, for gallstone remediation, to cure
hyperactive thyroid ( part of the lethargy attributed to consumption of devil's
club tea may be due to thyrosuppressive action). For those patients with sugar blues, it is not only helpful in
modulating blood sugar release and utilization, but there is often a distinct
mood enhancement and improved sense of well-being, and
decreased cravings for sweet foods.
Ablity to stop breast
milk flow and to initiate menstruation post partum strongly suggests that this
herb effects estrogen metabolism; the antihyperthyroid activity suggests
further endocrine involvement as does the resolution of type II diabetes. I
suspect that the weight loss action is affected by thyroid suppression in
either the pituitary or hypothalamus, as a progressive state of minimal
hypothyroidism develops. The post-consumption lethargy experienced by many may
be thyrosuppression. Certainly the eventual return of lost weight and further
weight gain support the hypothyroid idea. The long term use of small amounts of
Devil's Club may act as both an adaptogenic and endocrine tonic.

Bacopa
is an Ayurvedic herb which shares the name Bramhi with Gotu Kola. Used in India for memory enhancement,
epilepsy, insomnia, and as a mild sedative. Traditional application suggests that Bacopin has a direct
effect on improving brain functions, increasing concentration, and in promoting
memory functions. Bacosides are believed to play a protective role in the
synaptic functions of the nerves in the hippocampus, the seat of memory. Nerve
impulses are transmitted across the synapses and their degeneration is believed
to contribute to impaired memory and cognition. Bacopa may improve higher order
cognitive processes that are critically dependent on the input of information
from our environment such as learning and memory. Bacopa is a tonic to the
brain, mind, and thought. In Ayurveda, Bacopa is considered a Rasayana, or
long-term protective/rejuvenative, for the brain and nerve tissue and mental
function.
Bacopa is also used to improve the sharpness of the sense organs,
and to increase learning speed and retention in children and adults. It strengthens the nervous system in a
calming and centering way.
Research at a medical institute in India indicated that Bacopa heals the
brain tissue by augmenting the protein the body uses to build new neurons to
replace damaged ones. This action was also found to increase the efficiency of
the transmission of nerve impulses in the brain. In other modern studies,
Bacopa was found to increase protective antioxidants in the brain and nervous
tissue, acting in a way comparable to Vitamin E.

Formulated from the herbs alfalfa, dandelion, milk thistle, rosemary, red root, bringraj, yarrow, burdock, guggul, red clover, and yerba mamsa--all used to protect and support the liver, as well as to stimulate better cleansing action in that organ. The liver is the toxic waste disposal plant of our bodies, and so plays a vital role in overall health. Much of the research we have seen indicates that imbalances of the liver or problems in its function are at the root of many systemic ailments, especially those related to hormone imbalance, and some physicians recommend liver support and cleansing as adjunct therapy during or after treatment of many other problems.

SAW PALMETTO- V-PK+
Actions:
tonic, rejuvenative, aphrodisiac, expectorant, anti-inflammatory, diuretic,
antiseptic
Indications:
wasting diseases, prostate, thyroid disease, dysmenorrhea
A good remedy for the
reproductive glands. Most research centers use to treat benign prostatic
hyperplasia. Many prostate problems are connected to
levels of dihydrotestosterone, which causes cells in the prostate to
over-multiply, resulting in inflammation, blockage, symptoms of frequent and
uncomfortable urination, and even rupture. Research indicates that Saw Palmetto
inhibits the production of dihydrotestosterone in the body, which can very
effectively prevent or reverse prostate problems. Saw Palmetto is also a tonic to the bladder muscles, as
well as a tonic to the reproductive organs in either sex, by increasing blood
flow to the area. Increases
size of mammary glands. Decreases ovarian and uterine irritability. Assists and
normalizes thyroid activity. Urinary antiseptic, endocrine agent. It improves digestion and increases absorption of nutrients
from food. Used for breasts, digestion, glands, reproductive organs, sex
stimulant, weight gain. Note:
Needs to be taken with food. Fat-soluble.
Indications:
dysmenorreah, PMS, acne in teens, excessive bleeding,
irregular cycles, fibroids and other uterine or ovarian growths and
inflammations, excessive cramps, and amenorrhea
Also called
Vitex, has the effect of stimulation and normalizing pituitary gland functions,
especially its progesterone function. Chaste Tree may be called an amphoteric
remedy, as it can produce apparently opposite effects (though in truth it is
simply normalizing). The greatest use of Chaste Tree lies in normalizing the
activity of female sex hormones, and it is thus indicated for dysmenorrhoea,
premenstrual stress and other disorders related to hormone function. Because
Vitex contains progesterone, it is most helpful for problems which occur during
the second half of the cycle, from ovulation to menstruation. This is the phase
during which the symptom package known as PMS occurs, and Vitex can help with
all PMS-related problems- emotional upset, cramps, migraines, acne, swollen
feet, etc. Although it works primarily on these second-half problems, Vitex
should be taken throughout the entire cycle, supplemented by estrogenic herbs
during the first half of the cycle.
It is especially beneficial during menopausal changes. And in a similar
way, it may be used to aid the body to regain a natural balance after the use
of the birth control pill. Recent findings confirm that Chaste Tree helps
restore a normal estrogen-to-progesterone balance. It can not only ease, but
with time, actually cure premenstrual syndrome, which has been linked to
abnormally high levels of estrogen, especially if symptoms tend to disappear
when menstruation begins. European herbalists also use it today to treat
fibroid tumors and other female complaints. As the baby-boom generation passes
into menopause, this herb will be rediscovered by women looking for a natural
alternative to estrogen replacement therapy. For most purposes, it is necessary
to take Vitex daily as a long-term therapy. Improvement is usually seen after
the third cycle from beginning, but it is necessary to continue for many months
to effect long-term re-balancing.

Wild Asparagus root is a marvelous Shen tonic and Yin tonic. It was credited by Chinese wise men as being able to open the heart, prolong life, and also to tonify the sexual functions of both men and women. It is traditionally used in Chinese herbalism as a major lung tonic. Prolonged consumption will make the skin soft, supple and smooth. In the art of radiant health, this kind of skin is a sure sign of attainment. Beautiful skin is the result of pure blood and healthy lungs. Asparagus root is useful for those who are experiencing dry skin due to a dry environment or due to internal dryness.
Wild Asparagus is said to open up the Heart Center, allowing Shen
to flourish, manifesting as feelings of love, good will, patience and peace of
mind. Regular consumption of good quality Asparagus root seems to lift a
person's spirits in a way that is consistent with the Daoist philosophy of
attaining happiness. If you take it for some time, you tend to see things from
a broader view, indeed almost an unlimited view. Daoists mention that by
consuming wild Asparagus root a person gains the ability to "fly."
This flying is really the ability to rise above things that are limited and
mundane, even if they seem very important at the time. This spiritual ability
to "fly" is in fact the freedom of spirit one experiences when one
has attained harmony with Dao and is guided by universal love. Those who are
seeking spiritual attainment should consume good wild Asparagus whenever it is
available.
Wild Asparagus root is said to strike a balance into the internal
functions of the body. It promotes the production of Kidney Yin, and prolonged
use is beneficial for sexual weakness. Even though its greatest value is in its
"love tonic" attributes, wild Asparagus root is often used in tonics
designed to overcome impotence or frigidity on the physical level.

an anti-inflammatory effect; when injury has caused
inflammation and tissue congestion. Yerba Mansa is used to both directly shrink
inflamed tissues and help transport the fluid buildup out of them, it also has
aspirin-like effects. This spectrum of actions, as well as its benefit in
removing built-up nitrogen-based wastes from the deep tissues and joints, make
it a popular remedy for arthritis as well. Its antibacterial effects can also
be helpful to long-standing or difficult intestinal infections.
A combination of herbs including tumeric, devil's claw, yerba mansa, burdock, guggul, red clover, and yarrow used to support the healthy function of the bones and joints. Achieved instant fame in the US when clinical studies
confirmed its effectiveness in the treatment of mild-to-moderate depression.
The news came as no surprise to herbalists, who have long used St. John's wort
not only for depression, but also for the treatment of wounds, burns, injured
nerves, inflammations, ulcers, anxiety, and other ailments. Today, St. John's
Wort is one of the most frequently used treatments for mild-to-moderate
depression in Germany, and it seems destined to become just as popular in the
US. The relaxing effects of St. John's Wort seem to
have a strong intelligence, traveling to the stressed tissues in the body,
soothing the membranes and increasing the blood flow and tone of the area,
while at the same time slightly stimulating the heart. In addition to being
helpful in both depression and hypertension, these actions are often effective
for treating uterine disorders and nerve-related problems, such as fybromyalgia
or chronic fatigue. Also used to soothe and
heal damaged skin. The plant has also generated intense scientific
interest because of its potential as an antiviral agent. Some
experiments have shown it to have inhibitory effects on the binding of HIV
cells to human cells, as well as rendering AIDS non-infective in vitro, and
inhibiting the spread of AIDS through cells in patients. Avoid excessive exposure to the sun
when using.

godly effects, namely its extraordinary ability to slow the aging process, The
"longevity herb" is one of natures most dynamic nutritional food sources,
and has a vast spectrum of other beneficial properties which augment a number
of systems in the body, especially the immune system and the circulatory
system. Gives one a
beautiful skin complexion.
Contains Chalcones which are rarely found anywhere in the natural world,
but are the key factor in ashitaba.
Research has shown that the unique properties of ashitaba are at least
partly due to these remarkable compounds. The chalcones that are in ashitaba
are known as Xanthoangelol, Xanthoangelol-E and 4-Hydrooxyderricin. These
organic compounds are flavonoids and they give the plant its characteristic
yellow sap. This differentiates ashitaba from all other strains of angelica.
The antioxidant activity of flavonoids is due to their molecular structure, and
these structural characteristics of certain flavonoids found in ashitaba confer
surprisingly potent antioxidant activity exceeding that of red wine, green tea,
or soy.

Reishi is in the most highly rated category of
herbs ("Superior"), in terms of multiple benefits and lack of side
effects, in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Inhibits tumors and helps with cancer, side effects of cancer treatments
including radiation, chemo-therapy and surgery. The polysaccharides and ergosterols probably work together
to stimulate natural immune functions that tend to be suppressed by cancers and
immune disorders. Ganoderic acids are responsible for the anti-allergy effects
and improved oxygen utilization. Reishi greatly reduced the symptoms of
headaches, nausea, vomiting, insomnia, heart palpitations and extreme fatigue
of oxygen deprivation among Chinese workers who traveled to the high plateau of
Tibet, climbing 15,000 feet in 3 days in the process. Reishi is also effective
in reducing the symptoms of cardiovascular blockage and disease, including
angina, palpitation, fullness in the chest, dizziness and headache, shortness
of breath, insomnia and weariness, and loss of memory in 65% or more of the
patients in various studies. Reishi is a true adaptogen, enhancing health and
normal functions of the body. For example, while it increases some components
of immune response for cancer patients, it also inhibits pathological immune
functions in auto-immune diseases such as myasthenia gravis. It has been
reported to reduce the histamine release associated with allergic reactions,
and help prevent anaphylactic reaction. It also increased immunoglobulin-A
levels in 2,000 chronic bronchitis patients. Considered
an adaptogen, that is, an herb which balances and modulates the body's actions
and responses in whatever direction is needed. Some of the systems and
functions to which this normalizing effect is applied are blood pressure and
circulation, the immune system, blood sugar levels, heart function, the nervous
system, allergic response, digestion, and all major internal organs. Believed by ancient Chinese to
confer not only longevity, but immortality as well. It sharpens the memory and mental capacity, awakens the
spirit, calms the mind, opens the breath, strengthens the heart, protects the
liver, increases stamina and endurance, and increases resistance to disease.

As costly as gold, Saffron
has been highly valued since ancient times as one of the most sublime
medicine/food substances in the world. In Ayurveda, Saffron is considered pure
Sattva, the element of spirit and etheric energy, and it is held in high esteem
as an aid to meditation, love, devotion, compassion, and spiritual development.
It is also considered the best purifying herb,
clearing the subtle channels of the etheric body, as well as eliminating toxic
buildup in the physical body. It is used as a rejuvenative of the blood,
metabolism, circulation, and entire body, and
also acts as a catalyst to any other course of therapy with which it is
combined. It is said to promote the assimilation of food into deep tissues, and
also to stimulate new tissue growth, especially in the female reproductive
system. One of the best
anti-Pitta herbs and spleen-liver regulators. Best stimulant and aphrodisiac, especially for women. Catalyzes the tonic action of other
herbs and promotes tissue growth in the reproductive organs and in the entire
body. Modern research has shown that saffron helps
the body to regulate lactic and uric acids, and keeps these acids from building
up because of muscle strain or injury, or some types of arthritis and gout.
Additionally, it is considered one of the best anti-inflammatories, thus
helping with symptomatic relief in these cases as well. It is also a natural
source of hydrochloric acid, and so is tonic to the digestion.
It
can be added to other herbs to facilitate their function, or used as a spice to
promote assimilation of food into deeper tissues.

Schizandra fruits or berries contain
various lignans, mainly schizandrins, these lignans have been found to prevent
liver damage, stimulate liver repair, and stimulate normal liver functioning.
These properties appear to be related to the various antioxidant abilities of the
various schizandrins. Schizandra also helps in digestion, regulating gastric
acid release. Other studies have shown that extracts of schizandra are
stimulating to the central nervous system and are cholinergic. There have been
numerous reports on schizandra's ability to quicken reflexes, increase work
efficiency, control anger and combat neurasthenias (headaches, insomnia,
dizziness, palpitations). Other reports have mentioned increased cognitive
function and increased memory. A recent study concluded that schizandra may be
a useful herb to reverse depression, particularly that due to adrenergic
exhaustion. Recent research studies have indicated that schizandra has numerous
biological activities, including: liver protective, anti-depressant, antioxidant,
adaptogen and cardiac tonic. In Oriental Medicine, schizandra is recommended
for the lungs, liver and kidneys, including as an aphrodisiac ( kidney
element). Schizandra is also a registered medicine in Russia for vision
problems since the herb has been found to prevent eye fatigue and increase
acuity. In China, Schizandra is valued by women as a restorative to youth,
sexual vitality, and energy, and by both sexes as a protective against all
types of stress and fatigue.

Suma root, also known as Para Todo (For All
Things) is called "Brazilian Ginseng" by some herbalists and is one
of the most highly regarded South American herbs. It is an authentic
adaptogenic herb, and as such exerts a normalizing influence on your body and
can help regulate and enhance your endocrine, nervous, digestive,
cardiovascular and immune systems. South American Natives have used Suma for
centuries to treat wounds, skin rashes, low energy and sexual disinterest. The
overall effect is to give you an increased resistance to stress while having a
cell-building and regenerating effect. It also has analgesic and
anti-inflammatory properties that can help alleviate chronic and acute pain.
Suma root is also quite valuable nutritionally as it contains essential
vitamins, minerals, amino acids and trace elements. Researchers have identified
152 chemical constituents in the root, including 19 amino acids, electrolytic
and trace minerals such as iron, magnesium, cobalt, silica and zinc, as well as
vitamins A, B-1, B-2, E, K and pantothenic acid. It contains high amounts of
the trace element germanium, which is a powerful immune stimulator. The
germanium may be partly responsible for Suma's powerful ability to bring more
oxygen to the cells. Suma root is becoming quite popular because of its high
content of several plant hormones. It is considered one of the richest sources
of B-Ecdysterone, a plant hormone that can help maintain your youth and
strength. B-Ecdysterone can also accelerate wound healing, along with allantoin
(comfrey also contains allantoin), a known cellular rebuilder that is present
in this plant. Research in Brazil, Japan and the United States has found unique
natural substances in Suma called pfaffosides which are believed to reduce
tumors and regulate blood sugar levels. Suma helps regulate your blood
pressure, cholesterol, hormones (especially estrogen) and acid-base balance. Particularly in men, Suma can be of great help in sexual
function, and has been researched for low libido and erectile dysfunction. Even
in healthy men, Suma often greatly increases stamina and duration of
arousal. Not recommended if
pregant or nursing.
Actions:
cardiac tonic, diuretic, anti-ischemic and cardioprotective
Indications: stress, nervousness, high
blood pressure
Helps maintain a healthy heart and
reduces the effects of stress and nervousness. Arjuna promotes effective
cardiac functioning and regulates blood pressure. Arjuna has been the herb of
choice in Ayurveda for cardiovascular health. Arjuna's ability to suppress the
blood's absorption of lipids indicates that it has cholesterol-regulating
properties. Its principle constituents are Ôø1é2-sitosterol, ellagic acid and
arjunic acid. Anti-ischemic and cardioprotective agent in hypertension and in
ischemic heart disease, especially in disturbed cardiac rhythm, angina or
myocardial infarction. The bark powder possesses diuretic and a general tonic
effect in cases of cirrhosis of the liver, in addition to prostaglandin
enhancing and coronary risk factor modulating properties. It induces a
drug-dependent decrease in blood pressure and heart rate. Heals all types of
tissues, from fractures and contusions to damage on the heart from surgery or
disease. This may be due in part to Arjuna's high calcium content.
Recent studies have
investigated the mechanism of this activity and have shown a dose-dependent
regulation of blood pressure and heart rate. There was also a slight increase
in the HDL-to-total cholesterol ratio and an overall improvement in the
cardiovascular profile. The bark of Arjuna inhibits the oxidation of LDL and
accelerates the turnover of LDL-cholesterol in liver. This enhances the
elimination of cholesterol from the body. The suppression of hepatic
cholesterol biosynthesis by Terminalia arjuna is the mechanism responsible for
a significant lowering of beta-lipoprotein lipids and the recovery of HDL
components in hyperlipidemia. In a study on the efficacy of the bark powder in
treating congestive cardiac failure (CCF), over 40% of the cases showed marked
improvement. CCF due to congenital anomaly of heart and valve disease was also
brought under control. 4 out of 9 cases of CCF due to chronic bronchitis were
also relieved by the treatment. Arjuna is also known to relieve symptomatic
complaints of essential hypertension viz. giddiness, insomnia, lassitude,
headache and the inability to concentrate. Oral administration of an aqueous
suspension of the bark powder reduces coagulation, bleeding and prothrombin
time.
Arjuna also helps to
strengthen the spiritual heart.

Shilajit in
Sanskrit means "conqueror of mountains & destroyer of weakness".
It comes from the rocks in the lower Himalayas and is the most important natural
remedy of Ayurvedic medicine. The active principle of shilajit is fulvic acid.
It is very high in minerals, particularly iron, and also contains benzoic acid,
which gives it a peculiar resin/incense flavour. Traditionally considered a
panacea and a strong kidney tonic, it increases the core energy responsible for
your sexual and spiritual power, the same force that is withered by stress and
anxiety. Shilajit is purifying to all body systems, cleansing the digestive
tract, lungs, liver, kidneys, urinary tract, skin, etc. It stimulates the
purification of these areas, and also acts as an antiseptic and disinfectant,
used for fungal, yeast and other pathogenic or infectious conditions. It also balances cholesterol and blood
sugar, and promotes Page 26 of 33healthy weight loss."There is
hardly any curable disease which cannot be controlled or cured with the aid of
Shilajit." - Famous Indian Vaid Charak (1st Century A.D)
Fulvic acids, a natural
extract from ancient plant deposit that was created 75 million years ago in the
upper cretaceous period, consist of an immense arsenal and array of naturally
occuring phytochemicals, biochemicals, supercharged antioxidants, free-radical
scavengers, super oxide dismutases, nutrients, enzymes, hormones, amino acids,
antibiotics, antivirals, and antifungals. Fulvic Acids greatly enhance the
bioavailability of important trace minerals. Regenerate and prolong the
residence time of essential nutrients in the cells. Modify the damage or toxic
compounds such as heavy metals and free radicals. Enhance the permeability for
digestive, circulatory, and cell membranes. As the most powerful, natural
electrolyte known, fulvic acid restores electrical balance to damaged cells,
neutralizes toxins and can eliminate food poisoning within minutes. To the science of living cells, fulvic
acids are vital in bringing substantial amounts of nutrients and minerals into
water solution and delivering their living energies to the living cells. Fulvic
acid assists every stage of cellular metabolism. When it encounters free radicals with unpaired positive or
negative electrons, it supplies an equal and opposite charge to neutralize the
free radical.
Ancient Sanskrit holy
texts, over 3,000 years old, make reference to a mysterious substance called
shilajit, which they describe as the "destroyer of weakness." The
texts list its powerful health and spiritual benefits and the positive changes
that shilajit brought in the lives of those who used it. The sacred substance was
prescribed for thousands of years for many different health problems and became
a powerful tool in Ayurvedic medicine. There is some indication that shilajit
may have been the priceless soma of the Eastern alchemists.
Like many
Ayurvedic tonics, Shilajit is often used with other herbs to direct its action.
For nervous system debility or mental disturbance, it is used with Jatamansi,
an Indian form of Valerian very much like our Northwestern type. For sexual
debility, Shilajit is combined with Ashwagandha, and for chronic digestive
imbalance, it is used with Triphala.

A South American Shaman's herb,
traditionally used in divination ceremonies to contact the ancestors. It is
called Sun Opener because it adds a yellowish hue to the vision; natives
consider the auditory effects created by it to be the voices of the ancestors,
who speak to give advice and guidance. It also has an affinity for spiritual
work with music or the sound vibrations of etheric energies.
Native in Highlands from
Mexico to Northern Argentina, Sinicuichi is an interesting and ancient
divination plant. Although many different uses in folk medicine are reported
from widely separated parts of its range, only in Mexico, as of yet, has the
small shrub been valued as a euphoric/shamanistic herb. Many people report back
seeing golden (sun like) aura's or glows around people after drinking
sinicuichi brew.
It has mildly intoxicating
properties, usually devoid of unpleasant after-effects, with a slight feeling
of giddiness followed by euphoria characterized by a darkening of the
par-taker's surroundings, a great shrinking in size of the world around, auditory
hallucinations, an altered sense of time and place, forgetfulness and a removal
from a state of reality. Sounds seem to come distorted from a great
distance. This plant typifies an hallucinogen of which the hallucinogenic
characteristics are mainly auditory, but some visual effects also. The natives
believe that sinicuichi has sacred or supernatural qualities, since they hold
that it helps them recall events which took place many years earlier as if they
had happened yesterday; others assert that they are able, with sinicuichi, to
remember pre-natal events.

from the body.
Rhodiola has been used by Tibetans as
a traditional herbal, anti-stress remedy and adaptogen for more than 1000
years. An adaptogen is defined as a substance that has no toxicity or side
effects at normal dosages and that non-specifically increases the body's
resistance to disease and to physical and chemical stresses. Put another way,
use of Rhodiola as an adaptogenic herb will safely assist the body to combat stress
by maintaining its homeostatic balance and in recovering from the effects of
adverse weather, emotions, and disease influences. Furthermore, studies
conducted at the Institute of Medical and Biological Problems at the Russian
Federation Ministry of Health show that Rhodiola can help increase protein
synthesis, remove ammonia from the blood and have a detoxifying effect while
increasing blood supply to the muscles and the brain, and improving athletic
performance. Dating back to
760 AD, Rhodiola was first used by Tibetans to preserve body health and treat
disease. It is recorded and published in Tibetan manuscripts that Rhodiola can
support vital energy, help the body to resist stress, enrich the blood,
strengthen the brain, improve intelligence, and provide nourishment to preserve
health. Rhodiola preparations have proved effective to reinforce physical
strength, enhance body endurance, compensate hypoxia, relieve tiredness and
weakness, improve efficiency of physical and mental work, treat cardiac and pulmonary
diseases and supplement the chemotherapy and radiotherapy of cancers. Based on
the indications for use, Rhodiola appears to be cooling and detoxifying, and
vitalizes blood circulation. Also aids adaptation to high altitudes, thus, as a
preventive and treatment for mountain sickness. Rhodiola has even been linked to increased creatine
phosphate and ATP (energy) levels. All of this leads scientists to believe that
supplemental Rhodiola may increase strength and lean body mass. Researchers
speculate that Rhodiola helps reduce the stress that occurs secondary to
exercise by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system, which causes
relaxation (as opposed to the sympathetic nervous system which causes
stimulation).
Anti-aging Effect: Crenulatin, a chemical
component of Rhodiola, has been found to inhibit the production of lipid
peroxide in liver cells and save those cells from death. It can also enhance
the activity of serum SOD (a natural anti-oxidant in the body and a key enzyme
in the metabolism of oxygen), clear free radicals, and improve viral activity
of cells. Crenulatin could retard the growth and proliferation of tumors from
human lung tissue and reduce mortality rate.
Radiation-resistance & Anti-tumor
Effect: Rhodiola extract has a
central stimulant action that increases the body's tolerance to microwave
irradiation by protecting the hematopoietic system, which regulates the growth
and formation of tumors. Rhodiola can help regulate brain function, leukocyte
count, blood glucose, and promotes protein hydrolysis all the while enhancing
the functions of the thyroid gland, adrenals, and ovaries.
Adjustment on Metabolism: The
administration of a Rhodiola preparation could prolong the endurance of muscles
and promote catabolism of proteins. Both Muscle proteins and glutamic acid
levels have been shown to be enhanced when supplementing with Rhodiola.
Rhodiola can prolong the loading time of muscles and the timely restoration of
normal metabolism after extreme exercise.
Evidence has shown that Tibetan Rhodiola
is, in many ways, even more powerful than Ginseng. It is a superb herb for
people who work very hard, either physically or mentally. Tibetan Rhodiola has
been shown to improve endurance and mental capacity, including memory
enhancement. It has been shown to be a superb tonic and energizer for those
into physical fitness, and a superior tonic for those stuck behind a desk or at
a computer terminal for long periods of time. Consumption of even small amounts
of Rhodiola extract significantly improves a person's capacity to absorb and
utilize oxygen.
EARTH-
Rules- the power of
manifestation, groundedness
Strenghts- ablility
to manifest one's desires, overall health of the physical body
Weakness of the Salt
essence/Physical level- ungrounded, spacy, general debility
Actions:
anti-spasmodic
Indications:
whooping cough, chronic bronchitis, asthma
Used
with advantage in whooping-cough, exerting a peculiar action on the respiratory
organs; useful in incipient phthisis, chronic bronchitis, asthma, etc., the
juice is said to take away corns and warts. In America it has been advocated as
a cure for old age.
A
balanced nutritive tonic, containing all the amino acids needed by the body, in
the correct proportions, high amounts of B vitamins, 17 different beta-carotene
type nutrients, 2000 enzymes, and more gamma-linoleic acid than any other plant
source, including the better-known Evening Primrose oil. By entering and
nourishing the cells at such a concentrated level, Blue-Green Algae is helpful
for a myriad of health problems, since good nutrition and cellular structure
are necessary, regardless of any passing illness or other influence. This algae is especially renown to
powerfully increase stamina and physical endurance. It is also reported to improve memory, mental energy,
attitude and digestion, and reduce stress. There has been research done indicating that it supports the
healing of tissue and boosts the immune system, maybe partially due to its high
(alkaline) pH. Has very strong
life force energy-chi.
Seems to increase group
mind with others who are taking it, and also increase intelligence.

Alchemical healing, the Salt level corresponds to the physical body of a
person, different for each of us, and reflecting in a material way the more
ethereal aspects of our selves. This is not always the level of the root causes
of illness, but it is often the level at which symptoms manifest. The planetary
rulership of the Salt level gives insights into the physical qualities,
weaknesses, and disease tendencies that you have.
